Made from medium carbon steel, Grade 5 cap screws have a greater tensile strength than Grade 2. Used frequently in the automotive industry, these bolts shall be heat treated, oil (or water) quenched, and tempered at a minimum tempering temperature of 800 degrees (F). Proof load is 85,000 PSI with a minimum Yield Strength of 92,000 PSI and Tensile Strength of 120,000 PSI.
